The U.S. is home to the safest, most abundant and most affordable food and fiber supply of any developed nation in the world. This is thanks to America's farmers and ranchers along with a strong farm safety net. The Agriculture and Nutrition Act (H.R. 2) maintains and strengthens the farm safety net so producers can continue providing this bounty for our nation and world. Strong food security is strong national security because a nation that can feed itself is inherently more secure than a nation that can't.
