LaMalfa: Voluntary Conservation Programs Preserve Land, Way of Life

Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Agriculture Committee’s Conservation and Forestry Subcommittee held a hearing to explore conservation program access by historically underserved farmers and ranchers. After the hearing, Subcommittee Ranking Member Doug LaMalfa (CA-1) released the following remarks:
“Our nation’s voluntary conservation programs allow farmers and ranchers to protect their land as well as their way of life. Congress has made a conscious effort to ensure that underserved producers are not overlooked when applying for assistance, because all farmers and ranchers who wish to take part in these programs should have the ability to do so. I’m grateful to our witnesses for taking the time to speak with us today on how we can improve access to these important conservation programs,” said Subcommittee Ranking Member LaMalfa. |
