Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Agriculture Committee’s Conservation and Forestry Subcommittee held a hearing to review implementation of conservation programs in the 2018 Farm Bill. After the hearing, Subcommittee Ranking Member Doug LaMalfa (CA-1) and Committee Ranking Member K. Michael Conaway (TX-11) released the following remarks:

“In the 2018 Farm Bill, we prioritized a strong Conservation Title by protecting funding and modernizing the programs within. I’m continually impressed by American producers employing a wide array of both voluntary and innovative conservation practices. As implementation of the farm bill continues, I expect we’ll continue to hear similar success stories as we work to preserve our land and our way of life,” said Subcommittee Ranking Member LaMalfa.

“I appreciate Chief Lohr and Administrator Fordyce taking the time to update Members on their timely implementation of conservation programs. The Feral Swine Eradication and Control Pilot Program— already being implemented— is helping to remove wild hogs while reducing the devastating impacts they have on farmland. I look forward to our continued work to promote good stewardship of our land,” said Ranking Member Conaway.
