House Agriculture Committee Republican Leader Glenn 'GT' Thompson, Chairman David Scott, General Farm Commodities and Risk Management Subcommittee Republican Leader Austin Scott, and General Farm Commodities and Risk Management Subcommittee Chair Cheri Bustos issued the following statements to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of the National Grain and Feed Association. Republican Leader Thompson and Chairman Scott have also submitted a House Resolution commemorating the anniversary.
“For 125 years, NGFA has transformed American farmers’ bounties into safe, nutritious, sustainable, and affordable human and animal food. As the challenges of the past two years have shown us, we cannot take the food supply chain for granted if we are to be food secure and NGFA plays a critical role in that. I want to commend NGFA for their dedication to supporting the best interests of our nation’s farmers, ranchers, and producers,” said Republican Leader Glenn 'GT' Thompson.
“I am proud to recognize the 125th anniversary of the National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA). The nonprofit trade association, founded in Chicago, IL, represents so many agriculture businesses including over 1,000 companies and 7,500 facilities. To mark this anniversary, I am proud to join with my Ranking Member, Congressman GT Thompson, in leading this bipartisan resolution intended to recognize this historic milestone and the wonderful farmers and their representatives who have contributed to this important association and worked to feed our country,” said Chairman David Scott.
“Since 1896, National Grain and Feed Association members have transformed American grains into many of the food staples families rely on—both here at home and around the world. To mark their 125th anniversary, I’m proud to join this bipartisan group from the House Agriculture Committee in offering a resolution celebrating this milestone and for the important work they do in supporting so many of our nation’s farmers,” said Rep. Austin Scott.
“Over the last 125 years, the National Grain and Feed Association has grown into an essential agribusiness association that helps more than 1,000 member organizations and is part of the very backbone of American agriculture,” said Rep. Cheri Bustos. “I'm glad to join my colleagues on the Agriculture Committee in recognizing their great work and honored to be a partner to them every day. Congratulations on 125 years of incredible service!”
